Alas, it grows in solitude
A perfect single rose
And yet it is so much a part
Of everything that grows
Each petal curled so preciously
And yet so proud and strong
A testament to nature's wealth
Where nothing can be wrong
You once were like that single rose
Facing the world alone
Your beauty precious from inside
A love that you had grown
And like the rose you could not stay
Your spirit had to fly
And though it hurts to see you go
I know this is goodbye
The rose's fragrance lingers on
Its memory is sublime
It's you I sense when the wind blows in
Upon the wings of time.
